This section explains how Springboard – supported by Breakthrough ACTION, led by Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs (CCP) – will handle information obtained from your visit. The information we receive depends upon what you do when visiting our site.
When you visit our site to read or download information:
We collect and store only the following information about you: the name of the domain from which you access the Internet; the date and time you access our site; the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site, if any; and which pages you view while you visit our website. We use this information to count the number of visitors to different sections of our site, to find out what information is the most viewed and to help us make our website more useful to visitors. This gathering and storing of information is separate from the activity described as “monitoring” in our Security Notice below.
If you identify yourself by contacting us:
If you decide to contact us with personally identifying information in your message, we will use that personally identifying information to respond to your comment or suggestion, and to count the number of people sending us comments. We will only ask for personally identifying information about you if you register to be a Springboard member, not when you visit our site without signing in.
If you register for the Springboard community:
If you decide to register as a member of Springboard, we will use that personally identifying information to tailor content to your stated area(s) of interest. We will not share your personal information with any other parties. You can unsubscribe from Springboard at any time. We may report aggregate data on member engagement to Breakthrough ACTION’s funder and partners; none of this will be personally identifiable. You may request an export of your personal data stored on the site by emailing us.
The Compass
Content on Springboard labeled ‘Compass’ comes from another website Breakthrough ACTION manages, compassforsbc.org. If you click on a resource from the Compass page, no identifying information is captured, only the action (i.e. link clicked.)

These services will authenticate your identity and provide you the option to share certain personal information with us such as your name and email address to pre-populate our sign-up form.
